War of 1812 Napoleon - Kutuzov
The reasons for the war to Russia's refusal to actively support the Continental System of Napoleon as the most important weapon against England were looked at Napoleon's policy in relation to European countries without taking into account Russian interests (restore particular the efforts of Napoleon to the Polish state also the territories should belong to Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine).
In the first phase of the war (June to September 1812) the Russian army fought retiring from the borders of Russia to Moscow, to the Battle of Borodino (near Moscow). On 14 September Napoleon conquered Moscow without a battle.
That same day, late at night, the city was engulfed in fire. The Flemings were so intense, that Napoleon was forced on the night of September 15th to leave the Kremlin. The fire raged until the 18th September and destroyed a great part of Moscow.
On the Coin are Napoleon and Kutuzov shown. In the background you can see the invading French Army on the left side you can see the burning city of Moscow.
The coin is issued for the 200th anniversary of the war between France and Russia. They are made in the style of the medals of the time (Antique Finish) and there is very high relief on it. The maximum Mintage is only 999 pieces of each coin, 500 sets and 499 single coins.
